Web desk: Pakistan-US relations have entered a new and positive dimension, which international media and analysts attribute to the diplomatic vision of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The renowned American newspaper, The Washington Post, in its recent report, praised Pakistan’s foreign policy, particularly the diplomatic efforts led under Field Marshal Munir’s leadership.
According to the report, Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent visit to the United States has become “a symbol of a new dimension” in bilateral ties. While the shifting global landscape and former US President Donald Trump’s reelection were initially seen as challenges for Pakistan. The Pakistani officials have succeeded in fostering closer ties with the White House.
The Washington Post commended Pakistan’s counterterrorism initiatives, noting that as a result. The US designated the banned group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a global terrorist organisation. A development widely viewed as a major diplomatic victory for Pakistan.
According to the report, Pakistan has also offered the US a partnership in cryptocurrency projects and the development of its vast mineral resources. The latest curiosity seen by President Trump to invest in different sectors in Pakistan has the possibility of starting a new era of economic collaboration between the two nations.
With the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, further relations have started improving. And are being viewed as a good sign of peace and stability in the region. International experts believe these diplomatic achievements are not only strengthening Pakistan’s role in the region. But also enhancing its positive image at the global stage.
In another instance, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the role of the Pakistan Army in flood relief work. He said that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, soldiers are working day and night to help the people.
He added that the army is fighting terrorists on one side and rescuing flood victims on the other. According to him, the government, with the support of Field Marshal Munir and the armed forces, is also working to stabilise the economy.
Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the affected areas and met army personnel, police and civil officials. He thanked them for their hard work and promised full support.
He said the protection and relief of flood victims is the top priority. His visit showed the army’s role in defending the country while also standing with the people during this crisis.
Previously, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said, “God has made me the protector of this country.” He rejected talk of a leadership change, calling such claims “baseless and malicious.” He said those spreading rumours are against both the government and state institutions.
The army chief told the gathering that “beyond this responsibility, I have no desire for any other position.” He stressed that Pakistan will keep good ties with both China and the United States. He also warned India against proxies and said, “It is our duty to avenge the blood of every Pakistani.”
Recently, Experts at a roundtable organised by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) said Pakistan is seen by the United States as a stabilising force and a bridge between rival powers.
Middle East expert Naad e Ali noted that President Trump values Pakistan’s strategic clarity. Especially after the Iran-Israel war, and highlighted US interest in rare earth minerals near Pakistan’s border.
Ambassador Jauhar Saleem reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and praised Islamabad’s responsible diplomacy.
Previously, the United States declared the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). And its armed faction, the Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organisations (FTO).
US authorities said the group was behind several deadly assaults in Balochistan, including a train hijacking in March that left 31 people dead.
“The Department of State is designating The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). And its alias, The Majeed Brigade, as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). And adding the Majeed Brigade as an alias to BLA’s previous Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) designation,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement.
This was seen as another huge diplomatic achievement for Pakistan under the very capable leadership.
Prior to this, in July, the international community praised Pakistan’s key role in counter-terrorism. US official Gregory D. LoGerfo called Pakistan an important global partner, noting joint strategies that brought major successes.
Earlier, former President Donald Trump had also lauded Pakistan’s actions. These recognitions emphasise the role of Pakistan as a force of stability in the region.
Pakistan is getting respect internationally under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. And these back-to-back major diplomatic successes are powerful proof of it.
The leadership has supported peace, combated terrorism, assisted flood victims, and strengthened relations with other nations. His works portray that Pakistan is in safe and competent hands.
