KABUL: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has arrived in Kabul for the 6th Trilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China and Afghanistan.
On arrival, he was received by Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Dr. Mohammad Naeem, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani and senior Afghan officials.
The Trilateral Meeting will discuss enhancing cooperation between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan especially in trade, regional connectivity and counter terrorism domain.
Ishaq Dar will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan to discuss bilateral matters between both countries.
Earlier, source revealed that the agenda will include discussions on counterterrorism efforts and the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Its is important to note here Pakistan is leading the region towards peace and stability in cooperation with China specifically in last few years with Field Marshal Asim Munir took charge as army chief.
Earlier, the British weekly The Economist, regarded as one of the world’s most respected publications, has paid a strong tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, calling him an architect of “diplomatic and strategic change” in South Asia.
In a special feature published on August 3, The Economist stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir is not only reviving Pakistan-US relations but is also successfully managing balanced ties with China, the Middle East, and Gulf countries.
The article reported that on June 18, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a private meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House, a move seen as the beginning of a major diplomatic shift in the region.
