Mohammad Afzal Majuka, Additional Sessions Judge, Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) Court, Islamabad has rejected the request for pre-arrest bail of Siddique Anjum, Director Anti-Corruption Establishment named in Judge Humayun Dilawar case, on the ground of non-compliance. Strict notice on continued absence from court
According to the detailed written order issued by the court, Siddique Anjum was summoned to the court several times, however, he did not appear deliberately. The court ruled that the accused refrained from participating in the court proceedings and violated the court orders. Case Background
It may be recalled that Siddique Anjum filed a request for pre-arrest bail to avoid his possible arrest in a case filed against Judge Humayun Dilawar on 2 November 2024, on which he was granted interim relief. He later filed Writ Petition No. 3566-Q/2024 in the Islamabad High Court, in which the Court directed the Trial Court to refrain from proceeding with the matter while the matter is pending in the High Court. On this basis, the Peca Court adjourned the bail application indefinitely on 25 January 2025. However, when the Islamabad High Court dismissed the said writ petition on 19 September 2025, the trial court again issued a notice for hearing of the case on 3 October 2025 and restored the petition. Notices, Summons, WhatsApp, Parental Compliance, Still Absent
According to the court, Siddique Anjum was not only served a notice on his WhatsApp number but the summons was also complied with by his father, however, he did not appear in court. Another notice was issued on 8 October 2025 and he was summoned the same way today, but he was absent. Court stance
The court notes in its order that the Petitioner's continued absence indicates that he is deliberately evading court proceedings, so his request for pre-arrest bail is rejected on the ground of non-compliance. Who was in the courtroom?
Sheikh Amir Sohail Anjum, Additional Director (Legal), FIA, National Cyber Crime Coordination Authority, appeared in court during the hearing, while Ahmed Sadiq, the complainant in the case, was also present in court in person. Next step
Now the possibility of a possible arrest of Siddique Anjum in this case has increased. Law enforcement may take action against them, while further action by the court may also be indicated against them. The case relates to an alleged campaign on social media and other platforms against Judge Humayun Dilawar, in which the FIA and the Cyber Crime Wing initiated proceedings.
