Web desk: Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik will continue his role as Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), security sources confirmed.
Lt Gen Asim Malik, who was appointed as DG ISI in September 2024, is also holding the position of National Security Adviser (NSA). His dual responsibilities place him at the centre of Pakistan’s security and strategic decision-making.
Before assuming his current assignments, he served as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) for three years. He has also commanded a division and a brigade in Balochistan and South Waziristan, gaining extensive operational experience in sensitive regions.
A recipient of the prestigious Sword of Honour, Lt Gen Malik is considered among the most distinguished officers of the Pakistan Army. He has also contributed as an instructor at the National Defence University and at the Command and Staff College, Quetta.
