Web desk: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed three terrorists in the Lala Cheena Dosarka Ali Masjid area of district Khyber.
According to the CTD, the operation was carried out on a tip-off that terrorists were planning a major attack. As soon as the CTD SWAT team reached the site, the terrorists opened fire. The exchange of fire lasted for about half an hour.
During the search operation, three terrorists were found dead. They were identified as Muhammad Naeem alias Abdul Nasir, Muhammad Karim, and Noor Nabi (a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan). Naeem and Karim were also masterminds of the Peshawar Ring Road suicide bombing.
The CTD recovered three SMGs, 12 magazines with 135 rounds, and three bandoliers from the possession of the terrorists.
However, their commander, Fazal Noor, managed to escape with his associates under the cover of darkness.
The CTD said that a search operation is underway in the area to arrest the fleeing terrorists.
