Cold wave intensifies as rain, snowfall hit country

⏱ 1 minute read
Rain and snowfall

Rain in plain areas and snowfall in the mountains turned the weather colder across the country, creating scenic views. Mansehra’s valleys have seen continuous rain for the past two days, while Naran, Batakundi, Babusar Top and Saif-ul-Malook Lake received heavy snowfall.

Upper Dir recorded its first snowfall of the season, with snow also covering Lowari Tunnel, Kumrat and nearby areas. Kalam, Malam Jabba and Mahodand also saw snowfall, adding to the region’s beauty.

Light rain and drizzle in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore and other parts of Punjab further increased the cold. The rainfall has eased fears of a prolonged dry spell, benefited crops, reduced air pollution and is expected to lower the risk of seasonal diseases.
