Web desk: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit to Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar received the distinguished guest at Noor Khan Airbase. Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan were also present on the occasion.
A group of children dressed in traditional Pakistani attire welcomed the guest and presented him with flowers. During the visit, the sixth Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue will be held in Islamabad.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He will represent his country in the sixth round of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue, which will be co-chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar had visited Kabul for the 6th Trilateral Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan.
On his arrival, he was welcomed by Afghanistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammad Naeem, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, and senior Afghan officials.
The trilateral talks were aimed at enhancing cooperation among Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan, particularly in trade, regional connectivity, and counter-terrorism.
Ishaq Dar had also held a bilateral meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan to discuss issues of mutual interest.
According to sources at the time, the agenda included counter-terrorism efforts and the expansion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Analysts noted that Pakistan, in cooperation with China, had been taking steps to promote peace and stability in the region, particularly under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, who had recently taken charge as army chief.
