Pakistan bagged big wins at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit with China’s special treatment to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the major event.

The SCO CHS Summit brings together Heads of State and Government from SCO member States, including Pakistan, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The meeting, held in an expanded format, include leaders from Mongolia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Türkiye, Egypt, the Maldives, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, and Indonesia, as well as the Secretary-General of the United Nations and heads of various regional and international organizations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The mutual smiles and warm handshake between the two leaders sent a clear message to the world: the Pak-China friendship is not merely a verbal agreement but a practical, lasting, and strategic relationship.

Images and videos that have gone viral on social media highlight President Xi Jinping’s gentle, pleasant, and friendly demeanor. In turn, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif demonstrated a confident, dynamic, and diplomatically strong presence. This positive body language is seen as proof that China considers Pakistan a special and important partner.

According to analysts, the particularly warm and special treatment given to Prime Minister Sharif by President Xi in comparison to other delegations further shows that China regards Pakistan as one of its closest and most reliable partners.

On the other hand, after a disappointment show at the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Indian accounts have started sharing old images of Narendra Modi in an attempt to cover up the embarrasment.

During the summit Pakistan bagged big achievements, as the summit declaration unanimously condemned the terror activities sponsered by India across Pakistan specifically in Balochistan where a serving RAW commander Mr Jadhav was captured in Balochistan in March 2016 who later confessed to his association with the Indian spy agency and his involvement in espionage and terrorism in Pakistan.

They reiterated the importance of adopting by consensus a Comprehensive convention on international terrorism. Member States also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on Jaffer Express on 11 March and in Khuzdar on 21 May 2025.

However, the Indian PM Narendra Modi faced isolation with no meetings with state heads on the sidelines of the SCO summit.

Following global embarrasment, Modi was also trolled back in his home country with social media users exposing his propaganda machine for recylcing old images from his previous outings at the summit.

One social media user took to X (formerly Twitter) saying, “Old pictures from 2018 are being recycled in 2025 just to project Narendra Modi as Vishwaguru. Such desperation won’t hide today’s reality. On the ground, the common man is struggling like never before. It’s time for Rahul Gandhi Ji to lead as Prime Minister, India needs real change.”

It is pertinent to mention here that during his address to SCO Summit, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has irrefutable evidence of foriegn involvement in terrorism that resulted in massive human loss to the country.

Highlighting Pakistan’s support for multilateralism, the prime minister said the SCO remained a platform that best represents Pakistan’s abiding commitment to regional cooperation and integration.

“Pakistan has always believed in the power of multilateralism, dialogue and diplomacy, and shunning unilateralism,” he said expressing disappointment over the region’s extremely disturbing development in the last few months.

On regional security, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, including what he termed “state terrorism,” while recalling the country’s immense sacrifices in the fight against extremism. “We have lost over 90,000 lives and endured economic losses exceeding $152 billion — a sacrifice unparalleled in history,” he said, adding that foreign elements were involved in recent terror incidents in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“We condemn terrorism in all its forms… Those who have long used terrorism for advancing their political interest must know that the world no longer buys this narrative. We had irrefutable evidence of the involvement of some foreign hands in the devastating Jaffar Express train hostage incident as well as countless other terrorist attacks against us in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,” the prime minister stated.
