The report said he adjusted early to Donald Trump’s informal diplomatic style. It called him a clear example of a successful multi-directional strategist. Pakistan remained engaged simultaneously with Washington, Beijing, Riyadh, and Tehran.
The article said this approach opened new diplomatic opportunities for Pakistan. It added that Pakistani diplomacy was handled effectively in a changing global environment. Timely engagement and a softer tone with Trump proved beneficial, the report said.
According to the Financial Times, Pakistan’s diplomatic gains frustrated India. It said India found the middle-power strategy harder than expected. The report added that India failed to adapt to shifting global dynamics and Trump’s approach.
As a result, India is facing challenges in its middle-power diplomacy.
