Schools summer vacations

Private schools have been strictly directed to implement the summer vacation schedule, and a warning of legal action has been issued in case of violation.

According to details, the Ministry of Federal Education has reissued a formal notification to ensure strict implementation of the 2026 summer vacation schedule for all private educational institutions operating within the limits of Islamabad.

This step has been taken after clear violations of government orders were observed by some private schools in the federal capital.

In a new notification issued by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority under the Ministry of Education, it has been clearly stated that:

All private educational institutions in Islamabad will be bound to strictly follow the already scheduled summer vacation plan from May 25 to July 31, 2026.

The notification stated that all owners and principals of private schools have been instructed to ensure compliance in accordance with the spirit of the government schedule issued on May 21, without any exception.

PEIRA has warned strict action against violating schools, stating that if any private educational institution tries to ignore these orders, strict legal action will be taken against them through the Islamabad district administration under the relevant provisions of the PEIRA Act 2013.

It is worth noting that earlier the Government of Punjab had already announced summer vacations across all public and private schools in the province from May 22 to August 23, 2026, with classes scheduled to resume from August 24.

However, for the federal capital Islamabad, the vacations have been set only until July.
