Asia Cup 2025: Bangladesh announces 16-member squad

Web desk: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday named a 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, which will begin on Tuesday, September 9.

The team has high spirits and will enter the competition with confidence, having recently defeated Pakistan 2-1 at home. Among the notable inclusions is wicketkeeper-batter Qazi Nurul Hasan, who has returned to the national side after nearly three years.

Bangladesh have opted for a balanced squad. Six all-rounders have been selected: Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed and Shaif Uddin.

The team management has also included four frontline pacers, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam.

Interestingly, four wicketkeepers have also been drafted into the squad, Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Parvez Hossain Emon. Giving the selectors multiple options both behind the stumps and in the batting order.

Bangladesh will open their Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong on September 11 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
