Pakistani Actress Arij Fatima opens up about cancer diagnosis, calls recovery ‘second life’

WEBDESK: Pakistani actress Arij Fatima has opened up about her recent fight with a rare form of cancer.

The former TV star, known for hit dramas such as Hassad, Aik Pal, Aap Kay Liye, Ishq Parast and Humnasheen, left the entertainment industry in 2019. She married Dr Ozair Ali in 2017 and is now a mother of two sons. The family lives in Holland, a village in the US state of Ohio. Arij is also a popular digital creator with 1.6 million Instagram followers.

Speaking about her health battle, Arij revealed she had been diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma, a rare cancer that spreads quickly and can develop after a molar pregnancy.

“My life was going perfectly fine. I used to think I would live long and often delayed my prayers. But everything changed with the diagnosis,” she said. “The last four months have been very difficult for me and my family. I was afraid people would judge me, so I kept it to myself. My only fears were how I would face my God and what would happen to my family.”

Arij said she is now fully recovered and called it her “second life”. She urged people to have regular health check-ups and thanked her family for their support during the difficult time.

Fellow actors and fans have been sending Arij Fatima prayers and heartfelt wishes for her continued health and happiness.
