“Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan unacceptable”: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir

Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan to review the current security situation along the western border and operational preparedness of the armed forces.


According to ISPR, the Field Marshal received a detailed briefing on ongoing operations under Operation Ghazab lil Haq, including recent developments and intelligence-based actions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.


During the visit, he laid floral wreaths and offered prayers at the Martyrs’ Memorial to honor those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland. He praised the sacrifices of the martyrs, stating that their contributions form the foundation of Pakistan’s security and stability.


He was briefed on the overall security environment, ongoing intelligence-driven operations, and border management measures. Detailed updates were also provided regarding operational progress under Operation Ghazab lil Haq and evolving developments along the frontier.


Addressing troops deployed at forward positions, the Field Marshal appreciated their professionalism, operational readiness, and high morale amid ongoing tensions. He reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and ensuring peace and stability in the region.


He emphasized that the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan by elements such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan is unacceptable. He made it clear that necessary measures will be taken to counter cross-border threats.


He further stated that sustainable peace between the two countries will only be possible if Afghan authorities discontinue support for terrorist groups operating against Pakistan.


Upon arrival, the Corps Commander Peshawar received the Field Marshal and accompanied him during the visit.
