The advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader and secretary of the country’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Dr Ali Larijani, will make an “unprecedented” visit to Pakistan, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan announced on Monday.
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan wrote on X, “H.E. Dr. Ali Larijani, Honorable Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is paying an unprecedented visit to Pakistan. This historic milestone marks a pivotal moment at which the already solidified and time-tested relations between our two brotherly nations are set to enter another strategic phase.”
He also stressed the need to strengthen the relationship between the two nations, as he mentioned in his post on X,”In light of the rapidly evolving global landscape and the emerging dynamics within our regional ecosystem, the need to further strategize and elevate our bilateral relations has become more imperative than ever – an objective that will be meaningfully advanced through this significant visit.”
He also mentioned that Larijani’s visit is specifically to strengthen the relationship between the countries.
Dr Larijani also confirmed his visit to Pakistan on X. He wrote the post in Urdu. “The Iranian people will never forget that during the 12-day war imposed on Iran by the United States and the Zionist regime, the Pakistani nation stood with the Iranian nation,” Dr Larijani wrote in his post.

The Bangladeshi government has announced that it has once again requested India to hand over former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Hasina was sentenced to death earlier this week for her role in the crackdown against student protests, which resulted in mass killings.
The 78-year-old Hasina has been in hiding in India since August 2024, following the end of her authoritarian rule. During her tenure as prime minister, she enjoyed full backing from New Delhi.
Tawhid Hossain, the acting Bangladeshi foreign affairs overseer, told reporters, “We have sent another letter seeking Sheikh Hasina’s extradition.”
According to local newspaper Prothom Alo, this is the third official request made for her return since her escape.
Following the court’s death sentence against Hasina for crimes against humanity, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had stated that under bilateral agreements, ensuring the return of the former leader is both a legal and moral obligation for Delhi.
