A massive landslide has hit the Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang (BCT) National Highway in India’s Arunachal Pradesh.

As per details, no casualties have been reported in the incident occurred between Sapper Camp and Nyukmadung in Dirang, though several vehicles were damaged by falling rocks.

Earlier today, the River Sutlej caused high-level flooding in Kasur.

According to reports, several low-lying areas have been submerged, destroying thousands of acres of standing crops. Relief operations are underway in the flood-hit areas of Kasur.

In Bahawalpur, the evacuation of flood victims is ongoing. In Bahawalnagar, a medium-level flood in the Sutlej River has inundated cotton, rice, and sesame crops as well as residential areas.

India contacts Pakistan

In another development, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad informed Pakistan of a potential flood in the Tawi River at Jammu.

The major flood can affect Pakistan side too.

On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for all districts of Jammu and Kashmir as heavy rainfall continues to lash the union territory. The weather department has also forecast overcast skies, light rain, and thunderstorms.

Following the rain alerts for J&K, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert as torrential rains lashed wide parts of the UT.

In a post on X, the CM’s office said waterlogging had been reported in several residential areas, while rivers and nallahs were flowing above the danger mark.
