Pakistan weather update: hot, humid conditions to persist; rain, thunder likely in northern, hilly areas

Web desk: Hot and very humid weather is expected to continue in most parts of the country, according to the latest Pakistan weather update.

However, some areas, including the Potohar region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and nearby hilly zones, may see rain, wind, or thunderstorms in isolated spots.

The Met Office said that a seasonal low-pressure pressure lies over northern Balochistan, while moist air from the Arabian Sea is reaching the upper regions of the country.

A westerly wave is also influencing weather patterns in northern areas.

Pakistan weather update: regional forecast

Following is the regional weather forecast based on the latest Pakistan weather update.

Balochistan weather

Most parts of the province will remain hot and humid.

Sindh weather

Hot and humid weather is forecast for most districts, though coastal cities, including Karachi, may experience partly cloudy skies.

Punjab weather

Hot and humid weather will prevail across much of the province.

However, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and nearby areas may get partly cloudy weather with isolated rain, wind, or thunderstorms.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather

Warm and humid conditions are likely in most areas. Rain, wind or thunderstorms may occur in isolated places such as Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad and surrounding districts.

Islamabad weather

The capital and nearby areas will see hot and humid weather, though there is a 35 per cent chance of partly cloudy skies with rain, wind or thunderstorms during the morning or night.

Kashmir weather

Cloudy conditions are expected, with chances of isolated rain, wind, or thunderstorms.

Gilgit-Baltistan weather

Partly cloudy skies are forecast for the region.

In the past 24 hours, most of the country experienced hot and humid conditions.

However, rain, wind or thunderstorms occurred at a few spots in Islamabad, north-eastern Punjab and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

  • Islamabad: Bokra 21, New Kattarian 19, Pirwadai 16, Airport 11, Golra 09;
  • Punjab: Chakwal 16, Faisalabad (WASA Head Office 09, Gulistan Colony 06, GMA 04), Kasur 06, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Attock 01.
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Bannu 13, Cherat 01.
