Web Desk: YouTube Premium subscribers in several countries will pay more from September after Google confirmed increases of up to 15% for its ad-free subscription service.
The new rates will take effect from Sept. 23, 2026, although the higher charges will be applied according to each subscriber’s billing cycle. Customers whose next payment falls on or after that date will be charged at the revised rates.
In several European markets, the monthly price of an individual YouTube Premium subscription will rise from 13.99 euros to 15.99 euros.
In Finland, the individual plan will increase from 14.99 euros to 16.99 euros, while subscribers in Romania will see their monthly fee rise from 29 Romanian lei to 32 lei.
The increases represent another adjustment to the cost of accessing YouTube without advertising and other Premium benefits.
Subscribers in Singapore will also see higher prices.
The individual YouTube Premium plan will increase from 13.98 Singapore dollars to 15.98 dollars per month.
Meanwhile, the monthly family plan will rise from 27.98 Singapore dollars to 31.98 dollars.
Google is releasing details of the revised prices on a country-by-country basis, meaning additional markets could receive separate notifications about changes to their subscription rates.
Rather than applying the new prices to everyone on the same day, Google will link the increase to individual billing dates.
Subscribers whose next payment is due on or after Sept. 23 will pay the higher rate. This means some existing customers could continue paying their current price until their next billing cycle.
Google typically does not make frequent changes to YouTube Premium pricing, but when increases occur, the company has historically introduced them in stages across different markets.
The latest changes follow previous price increases in the United States, where some YouTube Premium plans became as much as $4 more expensive per month.
The staggered approach allows Google to adjust subscription prices across markets rather than introducing a single global increase at the same time.
For subscribers in the affected European countries and Singapore, however, the September increase means the cost of maintaining an ad-free YouTube experience will rise with their next billing cycle.
