Web Desk: Apple is expected to increase prices for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup, with higher component costs potentially pushing the starting price of the flagship model to $1,199, according to a Bloomberg report.

The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable iPhone in September. However, consumers could face a higher bill for the new premium models compared with last year’s iPhone lineup.

Apple is reportedly considering a price increase of about $100 for the iPhone 18 Pro.

If the increase goes ahead, the device could start at around $1,199, compared with the previous $1,099 starting price for the comparable Pro model.

The exact pricing has not yet been confirmed, and Apple has not publicly announced the prices of its upcoming devices.

The expected price hike is linked to higher costs for memory and other semiconductor components, according to the report.

Apple is also examining how other smartphone manufacturers have responded to rising production costs. Instead of absorbing the additional expenses, the company could pass part of the increase on to consumers through higher retail prices.

The move would mark a shift from last year, when Apple kept prices of the iPhone 17 series broadly unchanged despite rising costs.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly preparing to expand its premium smartphone lineup with its first foldable iPhone.

The foldable device is expected to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during the company’s September launch cycle.

The introduction would represent a major expansion of Apple’s iPhone range as competition in the foldable smartphone market continues to grow.

Apple could also change its traditional iPhone launch schedule this year.

The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Air are not expected to debut alongside the Pro models in September. Instead, leaks suggest the two devices could arrive in early 2027.

That would give Apple a more staggered launch strategy, separating its premium and standard iPhone releases.

While a $100 increase has been reported as a possibility, Apple’s final pricing decisions remain unknown.

The company has yet to officially confirm the iPhone 18 lineup, launch prices or the precise timing of its next-generation devices.

If the reported increase materializes, however, the iPhone 18 Pro could become noticeably more expensive for consumers already facing higher smartphone prices worldwide.
