Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister, was brought to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad during the night of August 20–21 for a medical examination and treatment.
According to a press release issued by the PIMS administration, two specialist doctors from Shifa International Hospital participated in examining Imran Khan’s eyes, while other medical examinations were conducted by relevant PIMS specialists.
PIMS said the medical information obtained during the eye examination was considered alongside the results of other medical tests and investigations conducted at the hospital. Following this, a medical board comprising PIMS doctors compiled a report on Imran Khan’s medical fitness.
According to the press release, PIMS will not disclose confidential and detailed medical information contained in the report, citing patient privacy and the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The PIMS administration clarified that the medical board prepared the report after considering medical information and investigation results provided by various specialists. However, the sensitive medical details of the report will not be made public in accordance with patient confidentiality principles.
According to PIMS, Imran Khan was brought to the hospital during the night of August 20–21, where he underwent various medical examinations.
