Schools across Punjab, both public and private, are scheduled to resume classes on August 24 (Monday) following the conclusion of the three-month summer break on August 23.
As the reopening date draws closer, parents and students are increasingly looking for clarity on the school schedule so they can adjust daily routines ahead of the new academic term.
The Punjab government has not yet issued a formal notification confirming the school timings after the summer holidays. However, reports have indicated the schedule that institutions are likely to follow once classes resume.
Expected School Timings After Summer Vacation
Single-shift schools are likely to operate from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, while classes on Friday may be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In schools running double shifts, the morning session is expected to continue from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm, with the afternoon shift likely to operate between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
These timings remain tentative and could change once the School Education Department issues an official notification.
Ahead of the reopening, the School Education Department has also instructed school managements to ensure that campuses are fully prepared for the return of students.
Administrations have been directed to carry out comprehensive cleanliness and safety arrangements, with particular attention to rooftops, water storage tanks and drainage systems.
Schools have also been told to complete security checks and other necessary preparations before students return to their classrooms on August 24.
