FC North conducted an operation against an Ephedra-manufacturing factory in Station Colony, Yaro, Pishin district, during which approximately 33,600 kilograms of Ephedra (Umaan) were recovered and seized. The factory used for drug production was also completely demolished.
According to details, two IBOs (intelligence-based operations) were conducted against the Ephedra-manufacturing factory. The operations were carried out at 1240 hours in Station Colony, Yaro, Pishin district. Search and other measures were conducted in the presence of police, while two SOC CTs ex-QS were also present.
During the operation, the seized narcotics material, including Ephedra (Umaan), along with other items, was set on fire and destroyed at the site. According to the information provided, Ephedra is often used in the production of ICE (Sheesha) and other narcotics.
The operation was completed in two phases. In the first phase, the prohibited and seized items were confiscated and destroyed. Approximately 33,600 kilograms of Ephedra (Umaan) were recovered during this phase. The seized material was destroyed on site in the presence of police and the district administration, with all confiscated material burned in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
The recovered Ephedra was estimated at 33,600 kilograms, while its estimated market value was set at Rs8,000 per kilogram. Based on this calculation, the total estimated value of the recovered contraband amounted to Rs268.8 million.
In the second phase, action was taken against the factory used for drug production. According to the information, the factory premises were being used as units for the manufacture of narcotics. The factory premises were demolished to prevent the illegal production from being restarted.
After the Ephedra and other seized items were destroyed on site, the factory was also completely demolished with an excavator. Thus, the first phase of the operation involved the seizure and destruction of the prohibited material, while the second phase involved the demolition of the factory used for drug production.
During the operation conducted under FC North, the seized material was destroyed on site in the presence of police and the district administration. The operation was aimed at preventing the unit used for narcotics production from being reactivated.
