According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to national cricketers participating in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) from August 19.

The CPL begins tonight, with the final scheduled for September 21. However, NOCs for national players have been delayed due to the National Champions Cup.

Sources said Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Muaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah and Sufiyan Muqeem have contracts with different CPL franchises and will be allowed to participate in the league from August 19.

Meanwhile, Usman Tariq and Hannan Shah are also set to feature in the CPL. Since neither player is part of the National Champions Cup, their availability will be handled separately.

Caribbean Premier League (CPL)

The Caribbean Premier League is an annual Twenty cricket tournament organized in the Caribbean. It was founded by Cricket West Indies in 2013 to replace the Caribbean T20 as the premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. It is currently sponsored by Republic Bank Limited and, therefore, officially named the Republic Bank CPL.

The CPL T20 tournament features total six teams and is divided into a group stage and a playoff stage. In the group stage, the teams each play ten matches overall, including five home matches. Unlike other popular T20 leagues that follow a set home-and-away schedule, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) follows a unique format. Teams play their home matches in a stipulated period, with games initially taking place across two venues before the tournament is shifted to other locations. Each of the six teams has an allocated home venue, while the playoff stage features an Eliminator, two Qualifiers and the final, with all playoffs matches held at a single venue.
