Web Desk: Security forces carried out a search-and-clearance operation on the outskirts of Quetta, killing between eight and 10 suspected terrorists and detaining 12 suspects as part of the ongoing Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, security officials said.

The operation targeted the Kambela and Asimabad areas and formed part of the military’s broader counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks in Balochistan.

According to security officials, troops conducted an extensive search and sanitisation operation, clearing approximately 68 square kilometres of territory believed to have been used by terrorists.

During the operation, security forces engaged suspected terrorists, with officials estimating that between eight and 10 were killed.

Officials said the bodies of two suspected terrorists were recovered from the operation site, while three to four others were believed to have been wounded during the exchange of fire.

Among those reportedly injured was a terrorist commander identified by officials as Shaukat Mama.

Authorities also detained 12 individuals on suspicion of links to terrorist activity. No further details were immediately released regarding their identities or possible charges.

Security officials said suspected terrorist hideouts were dismantled during the operation. They also stated that flags associated with what authorities refer to as “Fitna al-Hindustan” were removed from the area. Pakistan uses the term for militant groups it alleges are backed by India.

Officials said Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3 would continue until terrorist networks are dismantled, reaffirming the military’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against armed groups operating in the country.

Pakistan has intensified counterterrorism operations in recent months, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following a rise in terrorist attacks targeting security personnel and civilians.
