Security forces killed eight terrorists in an exchange of fire during a sanitization operation in the Khad Kucha area, while the remaining attackers managed to flee.
According to sources, terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan opened fire on security forces during the operation. The forces responded immediately with an effective and robust counterattack, targeting the militants. Initial reports said that eight terrorists were killed, while the others escaped.
Sources said that the area was declared cleared after the completion of the sanitization operation, and security forces continue to maintain routine surveillance.
According to sources, certain elements on social media have been spreading fabricated, baseless and misleading claims following the operation in an apparent attempt to mislead the public. The area has been declared completely secure after the successful completion of the operation.
Seven terrorists neutralised, three soldiers martyred during Mastung operation
Security forces killed seven suspected militants during a sanitisation operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Wednesday, while three soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in an exchange of fire, according to security sources.
The operation was underway in the Khad Kucha area when troops encountered militants identified by the sources as belonging to Fitna al Hindustan (FAH). The clash triggered a prolonged firefight as militants used both small and heavy weapons against the advancing forces.
Security forces continued the operation to clear the area following the initial engagement. Reinforcements were dispatched to the operation site from nearby positions, while military helicopters were deployed to provide aerial support.
According to the sources, a Bell combat helicopter was engaged in aerial operations over the area, while an Mi-17 helicopter remained on standby to assist if required.
The fighting left seven suspected militants dead. Meanwhile, three soldiers were killed in action and two others sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, the sources said.
