The Punjab government has announced large-scale appointments and transfers in the provincial bureaucracy, posting several deputy commissioners and senior officers to new positions. In this regard, the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has issued an official notification.
According to the notification, Owais Mushtaq has been appointed Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, Maham Asif Malik as Deputy Commissioner Toba Tek Singh, Muhammad Ikram Malik as Deputy Commissioner Okara, Babar Sahib Din as Deputy Commissioner Jhang, and Hina Arshad as Deputy Commissioner Khanewal.
Hammad Abbas Shah has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar. Former Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority.
The notification further states that Dr Muhammad Waheed Asghar Bhatti has been appointed Managing Director of the Punjab Resource Management and Policy Unit. Former Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali has been posted as Chief of Section at the Punjab Planning and Development Board.
Former Deputy Commissioner Okara Ahmed Usman Javed has been appointed Additional Secretary, Home Department; former Deputy Commissioner Jhang Ali Akbar has been posted as Additional Secretary, Irrigation Department; and Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao has been appointed Additional Secretary, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.
In addition, Captain (Retd.) Syed Ali Asghar has been appointed Additional Secretary, Finance Department, while former Deputy Commissioner Khanewal Maliha Rashid has been directed to report to S&GAD for the Senior Management Course.
The Punjab government says these appointments and transfers are aimed at improving administrative efficiency, strengthening governance, and enhancing the performance of district administrations.
Separately, in the Punjab Health Department, acting Director General Health Dr Khalid Mahmood has been transferred and appointed General Manager of the Medical Store Depot. Dr Talha Sherwani has been transferred from the post of Additional Director, TB Control Programme, and appointed Additional Principal Medical Officer at Bilal Ganj Hospital.
Dr Mohsin Wattoo has been appointed Additional Director of the TB Control Programme and has also been given the additional charge of Additional Director of the Hepatitis Control Programme.
According to the notification, Dr Moez has been appointed Additional Director, Prevention and Control of Epidemics, while Dr Bilal Ahmed Afghani has been appointed Senior Medical Officer at Bilal Ganj Hospital and assigned the additional charge of Deputy Director, TB Control Programme.
