DG ISPR press briefing

Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that three major terrorist incidents took place in Balochistan. He stated that Fitna al-Khawarij attacked innocent people, while a police checkpoint in Ziarat was also targeted. According to him, police personnel killed 15 terrorists.

The DG ISPR further said that Fitna al-Khawarij has no connection with Islam and that no power in the world can cast an evil eye on Pakistan. He said every possible step would continue to be taken to defend the country and ensure peace and stability. According to him, the militants’ objective was to target innocent civilians and spread fear and chaos, but the unwavering resolve of the public and security forces foiled their plans. Operations will continue until peace is fully restored in the province and the remaining terrorists are eliminated.

Addressing a press conference, he said the brave police officers brought the terrorists to justice. Security forces pursued the militants, who were holding children hostage. During the operation, several militants were killed. He added that six terrorists were killed in Kharan and eight in Dalbandin today, referring to them as Fitna al-Hindustan. He said 42 precious lives were lost during the operations, while a total of 54 terrorists were killed. He alleged that India was behind these attacks.

According to the DG ISPR, a terrorist incident also occurred in the Mangi Dam Quetta Pumping Station area, while terrorists attacked police checkpoints in Ziarat. During the operation in Ziarat, at least 15 terrorists were killed. He said all the martyred police personnel were locals who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Providing details of the three major terrorist incidents in Balochistan over the past four days, the DG ISPR said that a total of 26 terrorists were killed, while 42 security personnel embraced martyrdom defending the country. In the first attack in Mangi, nine brave police officers were martyred. In today’s attack, another 18 police personnel were martyred, bringing the total number of police martyrs in Mangi to 27.

He further said that security forces killed 14 terrorists in today’s operation, while 11 security personnel were martyred during the action. Following the recent incidents in Balochistan, law enforcement operations have resulted in the killing of a total of 54 terrorists, and operations against terrorists and their facilitators will continue without interruption.

The DG ISPR said those involved in these terrorist attacks are enemies of Pakistan’s prosperity and development. He alleged that Afghan territory is being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan and that the Afghan regime is backing these operations. He added that Balochistan’s development is Pakistan’s development, and the state will pursue terrorists and their facilitators to the fullest extent. Pakistan’s position is clear and unequivocal, and the fight against terrorism will continue with full force.
