The 276th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, began with Fateha for the martyrs of the nation. The forum said the eternal sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs will always be remembered and remain the foundation of the country’s security, unity, and resilience.
The conference expressed great concerns over the persistent use of areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime for planning and launching attacks against Pakistan by Indian-sponsored terrorist groups.
The forum stated that durable peace and stability in the region depend on stopping Indian proxies from operating from Afghan Taliban-controlled territory against Pakistan.
It reiterated that the de facto Afghan Taliban leadership shoulders the responsibility to make sure that territory under its regime is not used for terrorism against Pakistan.
The Corps Commanders reaffirmed that Pakistan has its due right to defend its soil and people against terrorism.
The forum stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces will continue intelligence-based operations under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq against terrorist activities operated from Afghan Taliban-controlled areas.
Participants also emphasized that meaningful governance must be established in terrorism-affected regions, supported by a strong administrative framework focused on public welfare while dismantling the nexus between terrorism, crime, and political patronage.
The conference said that after suffering a humiliating and embarrassing defeat in Marka-e-Haq, India is now resorting to spread instability through hybrid warfare and false narratives.
It warned that any attempt to create unrest and testability with external support will be dealt with an iron hand and without hesitation.
The forum also appreciated and expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and reducing tensions between US and Iran.
Taking notice of India’s recent statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, the conference reiterated that the National Security Committee’s directives of April 24, 2025, provide complete and comprehensive guidance on the matter.
The Corps Commanders stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces, in line with government directives and the aspirations of the Pakistani people, will take all necessary measures to safeguard Pakistan’s legitimate share of water.
The conference stressed that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and that lasting peace in the region depends on granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their due right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
Addressing the corps commanders conference, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir directed commanders to accelerate implementation of the Multi-Domain Transformation Plan in line with the evolving character of warfare.
He also instructed that Pakistan’s sovereignty, stability and national interests must be protected at all costs.
