Web Desk: HMD has expanded its feature phone portfolio by introducing four new Nokia-branded devices equipped with dedicated artificial intelligence buttons, voice-controlled functions and video-calling capabilities, marking a step toward bringing AI features to basic mobile phones.
The new lineup includes the Nokia 200 4G, Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition and Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition. All four devices run on the S30+ operating system while retaining Nokia’s signature physical keypad design.
Each handset features a dedicated AI button positioned at the center of the directional pad, providing quick access to the Sikey AI assistant.
Users can issue voice commands to perform everyday tasks, including switching on the flashlight, launching the camera, setting alarms and reminders, or placing calls to saved contacts. The assistant also responds to basic questions through voice interaction.
HMD said the AI service will be available free of charge for the first 180 days. After the trial expires, users will need to purchase a subscription through a companion smartphone application.
In addition, HMD has added video-calling functionality across the entire range through the Xpress Chat application.
Each model includes a front-facing VGA camera, enabling users to make video calls, send voice notes, and exchange text messages, photos and emojis. People using Android or iPhone devices can also participate in conversations by downloading the Xpress Chat app from their respective app stores.
The Nokia 200 4G and Nokia 210 4G come with 2.4-inch QVGA displays, while the Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition and Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition feature larger 2.8-inch IPS screens with the same QVGA resolution.
Meanwhile, rear cameras are available on two models. The Nokia 210 4G carries a VGA rear camera, whereas the Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition is equipped with a 2-megapixel sensor.
All four phones use removable 1,450mAh batteries and support Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
The devices also include USB-C charging ports, 3.5mm headphone jacks and built-in FM radio, maintaining several features commonly found in traditional feature phones.
HMD has not disclosed pricing or detailed launch schedules for the new devices.
However, the company has listed all four models on its official website in selected markets, indicating that broader availability is expected to be announced at a later date.
