Web Desk: International leaders and global organizations have flooded the Pakistani capital with messages of appreciation following the successful brokered ceasefire between the United States and Iran, even as regional broadcasters in Kabul and New Delhi react with visible agitation.

The United Nations, the European Union, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued formal statements praising Pakistan’s “courageous and tireless diplomacy.” UN Secretary-General António Guterres described the Islamabad Accord as a masterclass in conflict resolution, noting that Pakistan effectively prevented a catastrophic regional war. Furthermore, European leaders emphasized that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir have positioned Pakistan as an indispensable pillar of global stability.

However, the atmosphere in neighboring media landscapes presents a starkly different picture. In Afghanistan, various news outlets and social media commentators expressed frustration over Islamabad’s central role in the peace process. Analysts in Kabul voiced concerns that Pakistan’s renewed international leverage might diminish Afghanistan’s strategic importance on the global stage.

Similarly, the reaction in India has dominated regional social media trends. Viral footage from several high-profile Indian news channels showed anchors and pundits losing their composure during live broadcasts. In several instances, commentators were seen shouting and throwing scripts in disbelief as they reported on U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s arrival in Islamabad. These broadcasters questioned how Pakistan managed to secure the trust of both the Trump administration and the Iranian leadership simultaneously.

Despite the resentment from regional rivals, the international community remains focused on the tangible results of the mediation. Global energy markets responded positively to the news of the ceasefire, with oil prices stabilizing as the Strait of Hormuz reopened for commercial transit.

Moreover, social media users across the Middle East have shared viral videos celebrating the “power of the green passport,” often using humor to contrast Pakistan’s diplomatic success with the chaotic reactions of its neighbors. Many influencers highlighted that while some regional actors are “throwing chairs” in frustration, the world is looking toward Islamabad for the future of Middle Eastern security.

Moving forward, the focus shifts to the formal negotiations beginning Friday. While neighboring media outlets continue to broadcast their grievances, the high-level delegations from Washington and Tehran are already coordinating with Pakistani officials to finalize the long-term peace framework.
