According to the notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, April 9 and 10, 2026 (Thursday and Friday) have been declared local holidays within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory.
However, essential services will remain operational, including emergency services, hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and other key public service departments to ensure normal life continues without disruption.
The announcement is expected to apply to government offices, educational institutions, and several private organizations operating within the federal capital. Citizens have been advised to plan their activities accordingly, while authorities have emphasized maintaining public order and facilitating smooth movement during the holidays.
Officials have also indicated that traffic management plans and security arrangements will be in place across major points in Islamabad to avoid inconvenience to the public.
Meanwhile, residents are advised to stay updated through official notifications for any further developments or changes related to the holiday schedule.
