Corps commanders condemn attack on Saudi Arabia

The Corps Commanders’ Conference has underscored Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role, reaffirming commitment to dialogue and de-escalation in the Middle East, while strongly condemning recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, warning that such actions risk derailing ongoing peace efforts.

The 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held under the chairmanship of Syed Asim Munir, Field Marshal, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.

The forum offered Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians who laid down their lives in defence of the country. It paid tribute to their sacrifices, stating that the enduring legacy of martyrs forms the foundation of Pakistan’s security.

The Army Chief lauded the unwavering professionalism, operational readiness, and sustained intelligence-based counter-terrorism efforts of the armed forces.

The forum noted that through close coordination between the government, armed forces and the public, Pakistan is moving towards strengthening its security gains, stabilising the economy, and enhancing its regional and global standing.

The participants resolved that all terrorist proxies, their facilitators and abettors, operating at the behest of India and other external sponsors, would be eliminated through an indiscriminate and sustained campaign.

The forum reiterated that the momentum of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq would continue until terrorist safe havens are dismantled and the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan is decisively ended.

The conference appreciated the government’s efforts for peace in the Middle East and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, de-escalation and principled diplomacy. It said Pakistan, as a responsible stakeholder, is playing an active role as a regional security stabiliser.

The forum strongly condemned recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, terming them a source of unnecessary escalation. It noted that such actions undermine sincere efforts aimed at peaceful conflict resolution.

The participants said Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia are affecting ongoing peace efforts, while appreciating Saudi Arabia’s restraint despite serious provocations, which has helped keep diplomatic options open.

The forum rejected what it termed as continuous disinformation, baseless allegations and false flag narratives attributed to India, stating such tactics have been exposed globally.

Concern was also expressed over ongoing human rights violations, extrajudicial killings and staged encounters in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

At the conclusion, the Army Chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness, discipline, training, physical fitness, innovation and professional excellence on the battlefield.

He expressed full confidence in the armed forces’ capability to counter all threats and ensure Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
