Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia violation of its soverginity: Pakistan

Pakistan strongly condemned recent attacks by Iran on Saudi Arabia’s economic ,coming at a critical moment when Pakistan has been actively mediating ceasefire and peace negotiations.

The strikes, targeting key energy and industrial facilities such as the Jubail Petrochemical Complex, mark a serious escalation that threatens regional stability and the security of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.


Pakistan foreign office stressed that Saudi Arabia, which has historically not faced direct attacks on its soil, has exercised tremendous restraint in response.The recent attacks violate the sovereignty of the Holy Kingdom۔

Pakistan emphasized that it has moral, religious, and legal obligations to defend Saudi Arabia under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA).

Under this agreement, any attack on Saudi Arabia is considered an attack on Pakistan itself. Pakistani officials have stressed that despite provocations, the only sensible path forward remains de-escalation and continuation of the peace process.

Despite these challenges, officials insist that Pakistan remains committed to facilitating dialogue and ensuring that the window for peaceful resolution is preserved. The ongoing mediation۔
