Web Desk: Apple is preparing to unveil its first foldable iPhone, potentially redefining the smartphone experience, according to recent leaks.
Sources indicate that the foldable model, expected to debut in September 2026, will accompany the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series. The device is rumored to be introduced as an “Ultra” model, positioning it as Apple’s premium smartphone offering.
The foldable iPhone will reportedly feature a book-style design. Its external screen will measure 5.5 inches, while opening the device reveals a larger 7.8-inch internal display. Analysts say this dual-display design could enhance multitasking, video viewing, and mobile gaming experiences.
Apple is reportedly testing ultra-thin glass and liquid metal components to ensure the device is both lightweight and durable. Some leaks suggest the use of 3D-printed parts for added strength and flexibility. When fully unfolded, the phone is expected to be just 4.5 to 4.8 millimeters thick, while folding increases the thickness to 9.6 millimeters.
The foldable iPhone will house Apple’s A20 Pro chip and may feature a 5,500 mAh battery. Camera design is expected to resemble the iPhone Air but with a fully black finish. Reports suggest it will include two cameras, a microphone, and a flash, giving it an iPad Pro-like appearance.
Leaked reports emphasise that this new model could significantly alter how users interact with iPhones. The foldable design, combined with enhanced multitasking and entertainment capabilities, is expected to offer a device experience unlike any previous Apple smartphone.
Analysts note that this foldable device may serve as a bridge between smartphones and tablets, opening possibilities for larger screens without sacrificing portability.
