Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for accelerated reforms to modernise Pakistan Railways, aiming to make the national carrier safer, more reliable, and efficient for the public.

During a meeting with Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi in Islamabad, the Prime Minister directed that ongoing railway projects be completed on schedule. He emphasized the need to utilize all available resources to provide citizens with affordable, secure, and comfortable travel options.

Sharif underscored that the government will avoid placing additional financial burdens on the public amid challenging economic conditions. He stressed that improving the rail system is crucial not only for passenger safety and convenience but also for increasing revenue streams.

Highlighting the government’s public welfare agenda, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing departmental performance across sectors to drive national development.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi briefed the Prime Minister on operational matters, assuring that, given public convenience and the current Gulf situation, fares for all operational trains nationwide will remain unchanged.
