Pakistan, Bahrain foreign ministers discuss regional tensions, stress diplomacy

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to discuss the prevailing regional situation, the Foreign Office said on Saturday.

During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East and broader Gulf region, showing concer over rising tensions.


Ishaq Dar stressed the urgent need for de-escalation and highlighted the importance of negotiations and diplomacy in reaching resolution of the conflicts.

He also reiterated the importance of the Pakistan–China five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.


The Bahraini foreign minister applauded Pakistan’s constructive role and its continued efforts to promote dialogue and peaceful solutions.


Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and supporting initiatives that contribute to long-term regional peace and stability.
