Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo once again displayed a brilliant performance, helping his Saudi club Al-Nassr defeat Al-Najma 5-2.
In the match, Ronaldo scored two goals, strengthening his team’s lead. However, a particular moment drew attention on social media: before scoring a penalty, Ronaldo said “Bismillah” (in the name of Allah).
He scored the penalty in the 56th minute to make it 2-3 and added another goal in the 73rd minute, increasing Al-Nassr’s lead to 2-4.
With this stellar performance, Ronaldo’s career goals reached 967, moving him closer to the historic 1000-goal milestone.
This is not the first time Ronaldo has used an Islamic expression considered meaningful in the lives of Muslims. In December 2025, during his speech after winning the Middle East Footballer of the Year for the third consecutive time, he used the word “Inshallah” while talking about reaching 1000 career goals.
Social media is now speculating that if Ronaldo spends more time in Saudi Arabia, he might consider converting to Islam. However, there has been no confirmation or indication from Ronaldo or his close sources regarding this.
Ronaldo has played for top European clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. Known for his goal-scoring prowess, athleticism, and leadership, he continues to break records even in the later stages of his career.
