Islamabad: The government has announced an increase in petrol and diesel prices.


Minister of Petroleum Ali Parvez Malik, along with the Finance Minister, held a press conference and announced that the new petrol price has been set at Rs 458.40 per liter, while diesel is now Rs 520.35 per liter.

The government thanked the President, Chief Ministers, and allied parties for their support.


Ali Parvez Malik stated that the ongoing war has caused a massive surge in energy prices. He said the government is taking difficult but responsible decisions, noting record increases in crude oil prices.

The Prime Minister has also cut cabinet members’ salaries through a frugality campaign. The minister emphasized that the nation urgently needs unity at this time.

Despite global hike in petroleum products, the govt is trying not to burden low income citizens with this inevetable increse. In this regard the govt has devised a comprehensive mechanisim to provide the motorcyclists the fuel at sudsidised rates fot three monts.
