Web Desk: Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations across multiple districts in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan, killing 32 suspected terrorists linked to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), officials said.
Authorities carried out simultaneous operations in Panjgur, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Turbat and Quetta, targeting what officials described as key BLA strongholds and logistical networks. As a result, security forces killed 32 terrorists, wounded 17 and arrested 11 others, according to security sources.
Moreover, officials said the coordinated nature of the raids aimed to dismantle the group’s operational capacity across a wide geographic spread.
In a significant development, security forces killed a senior BLA commander, identified as Nazir alias Chakar, along with seven associates during an operation in Panjgur. Officials described his death as a major strategic setback for the group.
Meanwhile, in Kharan district, a drone strike targeted a vehicle carrying suspected militants, killing four individuals on the spot.
Interrogations of arrested suspects indicated that BLA terrorists had been infiltrating across the border using routes through Kunar and Kandahar, suggesting external facilitation, officials said.
Furthermore, authorities reported recovering advanced U.S.-made weapons from operations in Washuk and Kalat, pointing to organized supply chains supporting militant activity.
Officials said the operation significantly degraded the BLA’s operational capabilities and disrupted its logistics network. Consequently, they added, the state’s control in affected areas has strengthened following the operations.
Security forces continue intelligence-driven actions in the region as part of broader efforts to counter militancy in Balochistan.
