A major energy concern has eased as a vessel carrying LPG from Oman arrived in Pakistan late at night.
The ship is carrying 3,800 metric tons of LPG and was scheduled to be offloaded at Port Qasim for SSGC. However, according to sources, a technical fault in the system has delayed the offloading process, and the vessel is currently stationed at the outer anchorage.
A spokesperson further confirmed that another LPG shipment from Iraq is expected to arrive tomorrow, which will further stabilize supply.
In addition, a separate vessel carrying 52,000 metric tons of coal has already reached Port Qasim, providing additional support to the country’s energy needs.
The arrival of these shipments is expected to ease the LPG shortage and improve supply in the coming days.
Countries in the Gulf, including Oman and Iraq, play a key role in supplying LPG to South Asian markets. Any disruption in shipping, production, or logistics can quickly impact countries like Pakistan that rely heavily on imports.
