Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today in Islamabad for Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighting

The meeting Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been concluded ,receiving no testimonies of the sighting of the Shawwal moon.


Speaking in front of news channel cameras, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, stated that the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has not received any testimonies of the Shawwal moon being sighted either in Islamabad or in any other region.


Maulana Azad further said that in Lahore as well, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has not received any testimonies regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The Committee held its meeting in Islamabad to sight the Eid moon, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.


In Peshawar, the zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting held at the Auqaf Hall, where members of the zonal committee are present.


The zonal committee meeting held to receive testimonies regarding moon sighting. Participants included Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Ehsan-ul-Haq, Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, Mufti Atiqullah, Maulana Abdul Basir Madani, Maulana Muhammad Ali Shah, and Allama Abid Hussain Shakri. Officials from the Meteorological Department and Auqaf Administrator Dr. Mohsin Habib were also present.


In this regard, another forecast from SUPARCO has also emerged. According to Division Head Astrophysics SUPARCO, Ghulam Mustafa Laghari, the new moon was born on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 6:23 AM.
