Islamabad March 5, 2026: Security officials have stated that operations in Afghanistan will continue until the defined objectives are achieved.
According to official statements, authorities maintain that Afghan Taliban leadership is aware of the demands required to prevent further escalation and restore stability.
Officials alleged that militant elements, including banned groups such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), are being sheltered and protected in Afghan territory. They further claimed that militants sought by Pakistan are reportedly being kept behind civilian cover.
Security sources also stated that 36 posts allegedly used for cross-border launching activities have been targeted and destroyed to eliminate infrastructure used for attacks inside Pakistan. Officials said the purpose of recent operations, including reported strikes near strategic locations such as Bagram Airbase, was to destroy weapons and logistics systems being used against Pakistan.
Authorities emphasized that Pakistan has the capability and experience to defend itself and respond to threats. They asserted that operations were conducted against hostile elements and not against Afghanistan as a country or its people.
Officials further claimed that friendly countries and segments of the Afghan population support Pakistan’s position regarding counterterrorism efforts. They also stated that the repatriation of Afghan refugees is a collective political decision and part of broader policy measures
