War on Iran designed to encircle Pakistan, Khawaja Asif

Web Desk: Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that any war imposed on Iran is intended to extend Israel’s influence up to Pakistan’s borders, warning that such a development would threaten regional stability.

In a post on social media platform X, Asif said Iran had shown willingness to reach an agreement but was still subjected to conflict. He added that the broader objective of confrontation with Tehran was to shift the regional balance of power.

Asif said Zionism has posed a threat to humanity since the establishment of Israel in 1948, arguing that conflicts affecting the Muslim world could be traced directly or indirectly to Israeli state policy and ideology.

Furthermore, he alleged that Zionist influence has dominated the global economic system for more than a century and claimed that major powers remain beholden to it. He did not provide evidence to support the claims.

Turning to domestic matters, Asif said Pakistan’s sovereignty remains secure due to the sacrifices of its armed forces and its nuclear capability.

“Our martyrs and veterans have ensured the protection of our independence,” he said, adding that those who contributed to making Pakistan a nuclear power deserved national gratitude.

He also praised former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for authorizing Pakistan’s nuclear tests in 1998, calling the decision a demonstration of resolve.

Asif said Pakistan faces hostility from neighboring Afghanistan, Iran and India, which he described as sharing an anti-Pakistan agenda aimed at destabilizing the country and rendering its borders insecure.

He urged the country’s 250 million citizens to rise above sectarian and political differences and recognize what he described as a broader conspiracy against Pakistan.

Finally, Asif called for unity across the Muslim world, the recognition of common adversaries and the liberation of Palestine, expressing hope for Pakistan’s enduring stability.
