PHF lifts captain Ammad Butt’s Suspension,promises transparency and fairplay

Islamabad: Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination and Ad-hoc President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mohyuddin Wani, has reaffirmed his commitment to reviving and strengthening national hockey and announced the immediate lifting of the ban imposed on national hockey team captain Ammad Shakeel Butt.


In his statement, Mohyuddin Wani said that the ban on Ammad Shakeel Butt has been lifted with immediate effect. He added that players should now focus only on training and matches, while the federation will handle other matters.


The ad-hoc PHF president stated that all relevant institutions are united in their efforts to restore the national sport to its former glory. He also announced that transparent and democratic elections for new leadership in the federation will be held soon.


Wani said that as ad-hoc president, his top priority is to stabilize the institution, restore trust, and reorganize the team management system.


He further stated that in the short term, immediate and important issues will be addressed, while a comprehensive vision will be developed as part of a medium-term strategy. Coaching and training systems will be improved, and institutional coordination will be strengthened.


Mohyuddin Wani also said that governance within the federation will be improved, transparent and effective use of resources will be ensured, and partnerships with the private sector will be established to provide maximum facilities to players.


He thanked the Prime Minister for placing trust in him and said that transparency and fairness will remain central to every decision, and together they will restore Pakistan hockey to its lost position.
