Rain looms over Pakistan’s must-win match against Namibia

Colombo: Clouds are gathering over the Pakistan vs Namibia T20 World Cup match in Colombo, as the national team prepares for its final group-stage game. Pakistan must win this match to secure a spot in the Super 8 stage following a 61-run defeat against India.


According to weather reports, there is a 50–60% chance of rain in Colombo. The sky is expected to remain overcast, with winds reaching approximately 19 km/h.


Currently, Pakistan sits third in Group A with two wins and one loss from three matches, holding a net run rate of -0.403, which is lower than that of the United States.


If rain leads to a match cancellation, Pakistan will advance to the Super 8 stage with five points. However, a defeat against Namibia could allow the United States to qualify for the next stage based on four points and a better net run rate.
