Players’ auction replaces draft system for PSL 11

Lahore: A new chapter has been written in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as, for the first time, a players’ auction is being held instead of the traditional draft system.


The ceremony is taking place at Expo Centre Lahore, where players are being selected through an auction for the 8-team event.


First Lot (All-Rounders)
Pakistani all-rounder Faheem Ashraf was bought by Islamabad United for Rs 85 million.
No franchise showed interest in Imad Wasim, Mohammad Junaid, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Hussain Talat, Asif Afridi, Danish Aziz, and Mohammad Zeeshan.


Second Lot
Australia’s David Warner was bought by Karachi Kings for Rs 79 million.
Former South African player Rilee Rossouw was picked by Quetta Gladiators for Rs 55.5 million.
Jehanzeb Sultan was bought by Sialkot Stallions for Rs 6 million.
No bids were made for Colin Munro, Umair Bin Yousuf, Kamran Ghulam, George Munsey, and Saud Shakeel.


Third Lot
Mohammad Ali was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 21.5 million.
Haris Rauf was re-signed by Lahore Qalandars for Rs 76 million.
No franchise showed interest in England’s Chris Jordan.


PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi received a warm welcome from franchise owners at the event. He presented special customized T20 World Cup 2026 “Markhor” shirts to all franchise owners as gifts.
