Jammu and Kashmir

Web Desk: In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India’s oppression, tyranny and unjust punishments are continuing to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. According to Kashmir Media Service, an Indian court has convicted prominent freedom fighter and head of the Dukhtar-e-Millat organization, Asiya Andrabi, in a political case.

According to reports, freedom fighter leaders Fehmida Sufi and Nahida Nasreen have also been found guilty in the same case, while the sentences of the three leaders will be pronounced on January 17. This case was tried in the court of India’s infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Kashmir Media Service says that Asiya Andrabi was arrested in April 2018 in a politically motivated and fabricated case. She is the founding leader of the women-led freedom fighter organization, Dukhtar-e-Millat, established in 1987.

Reports further state that Asiya Andrabi’s husband Ashiq Hussain has also been imprisoned in India under fabricated cases for the past nearly three decades. Such oppressive tactics cannot dampen the spirit of the Kashmiri people’s just struggle against the illegal Indian occupation.
