Mild Earthquake of 2.4 Magnitude Jolts Quetta

A mild earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale shook Quetta on Thursday night, causing panic among residents who have experienced frequent tremors in recent months.

People rushed out of their homes, reciting Kalma Tayyaba, and stayed outdoors for some time.

The Seismological Centre reported that the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicenter located 38 kilometres northwest of Quetta. Authorities confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported.

Earlier, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Sibi and nearby areas in Balochistan. Local authorities and rescue teams closely monitored the situation. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter of that quake was 53 kilometres northwest of Sibi at a depth of 11 kilometres.
