Government retracts on local holiday on December 26

Islamabad: The federal government announced that there is no Holiday on Friday for Government institutions, December 26, 2025, will remain a regular working day, clarifying earlier confusion over the holiday schedule.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, all federal institutions, offices and ministries will operate as usual on December 26. Employees are expected to report to work, and no official holiday will be observed.

Government emphasises continuity of services

The notification emphasised that the day will follow the normal schedule, ensuring uninterrupted government services for the public. It reaffirmed that all federal departments and offices will remain open for routine operations.

Citizens and employees were advised to plan accordingly, as the announcement confirms that December 26 will not be a public holiday.
