Web Desk: On the eve of Basant festival to avoid accidents the Punjab government has issued special Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for bike riders in the province.
As per the new guidelines to avoid any unfortunate incidents the motorcyclists must install safety wires on bikes and motorcycles during the Basant festival.
According to authorities the SOPs have been issued to the Home Department for approval ahead of Basant.
As per the announced schedule the Basant festival will start on February 6, 7 and 8 that will be celebrated across Punjab after the gap of 25 years in day and night time.
Due to the occurrences of unfortunate incidents in the past the Basant celebrations were banned and now it has been allowed by Punjab government to celebrate but will allow with following SOPs. According to authorities for that purpose the services of private firms will be hired and the designated department will be responsible for enforcing the SOPs across Punjab.

It is pertinent to mention that the Punjab government has been announced that in 2025 Lahore, Rawalpindi along with Punjab will be allowed to celebrate the festival of Basant. The celebration would be very limited in nature.
The festival will be celebrated throughout Punjab hence Kasur, Faisalabad and Multan are also included in the cities where the festival will be celebrated.
The announcement was made by Punjab Government. They have introduced a new ordinance called the 2025 Kite Flying Ordinance. This ordinance cancels the old 2001 Kite flying ordinance completely.
According to the ordinance kids younger than 18-year-old will not be able to take part in Basant and it will take place in certain places at certain times.
One must be registered for the selling and manufacturing of kites. Cases will be made if they are sold or manufactured without registration.
In Lahore, Basant will be made on 6,7 and 8 February according to Maryam Nawaz. This will be the first time in 25 years that Basant will be celebrated.
She further stated that according to Basant Ordinance all the laws will be followed.
From tomorrow safety antennas will also be installed on motorcycles to ensure safety. It would be compulsory to install a safety antenna on your motorcycle in Lahore.
People from the whole word interested in the festival will look towards Lahore.
