For the first time, Pakistan is introducing international animal rights law into university-level education at Kinnaird Law School in 2026.

Environmental and Animal Rights Consultants Pakistan will be offering the course. It is the country’s first environmental and animal law firm. The course will be at the undergraduate level. The course seeks to teach students about international animal law and the gaps that need to be filled in Pakistan.

This development will embed animal rights not only in advocacy and litigation but also in formal legal education. The course will take animal rights from courtrooms to classrooms. The future generations of lawyers will defend animals’ rights as a matter of legal principle and law.

This development is the result of Altamush Saeed’s sustained legal advocacy. He has been reappointed as Chairman of the Animal Law Committee at the Lahore High Court Bar Association for the 2025–2026 term. He is being reappointed for his role in advancing animal rights in Pakistan.

In 2024, an Animal Law Committee at the Lahore High Court Bar Association was established by Saeed. It was the first committee of its kind in Pakistan. The committee aimed to bring animal rights into structured practice and legal discussions.

According to Saeed, the credit for his journey goes to purpose and faith. He said: “Beshak Allah blesses those He chooses with His work. Alhamdulillah.”
